We have completed construction of the washroom at the school in the village of Shebelle. This was something the community asked for and community members have agreed to clean it and provide water.

It cost a bit extra because we built it a little higher, to deal with flood waters that come to the area every now and then, and because we included a vestibule for privacy.

This washroom will support girls in staying in school because they will not have to face the discomfort of not caring for their bodily needs while at school, and they will have a private place to withdraw to should they need to look after menstrual hygiene.
