We may not be able to solve all the world’s issues, but we can do something. We have that power.

A child was walking on the beach one morning and saw that the tide had left it covered in starfish. If they stayed where they were the sun would dry them out. The child started picking up starfish one by one and throwing them back into the water.

An adult walking by asked the child what they were doing. The child said, “I’m helping starfish.”

The adult looked around and the hundreds of starfish, sighed, and said, “There are so many starfish here. There is no way that you can make a difference.”

The child paused and looked at the starfish in their hand, then shrugged and lobbed it into the ocean. “I made a difference for that one,” said the child.
