Can you imagine how your life would be different if you couldn’t read? What couldn’t you do? How would you have to do things differently? How would it change your relationship with your children?

Soon after E4Change began supporting children’s education, mothers started coming to us and asking how they could support their children’s learning if they themselves didn’t even know how to read. It was that local demand that started us providing adult education. And the demand continues. In fact, we now have leaders of neighbouring communities coming to us and asking why their neighbours get to learn but they don’t get the chance. Our response has been that we cannot start a program unless we are sure that we have the resources to sustain it. So once we have the funds to run a program for three years, then we feel that we can say yes to a community that is asking for support.
