Ensuring local teachers are well-trained guarantees a sustainable program.

This is a partner project with Educator and Leadership Institute (ELI) from Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. They work to build teaching and leadership capacity in communities globally by listening to the needs of teachers in countries that have traditionally had little opportunity for teacher education. They then develop programs based on their needs and bring Canadian educators to work side-by-side with teachers in other countries. The sessions use a “train the trainer” model so that the teachers who attend the conference will then be able to transfer their knowledge to others once they return home. 

This will be a pilot project, with hopes of continuing in the future.
